December Southern NV Master Gardener Public Events

“In the Gardens”

Join the Master Gardeners “In the Gardens” as they do planting/harvesting and seasonal maintenance.

  • Rose Garden  – Mondays, December 5 and 19 at 9am.
  • Vegetable/Fruit Trials Garden – Wednesday, December 14 at 10am.
  • Garden Tours – Fridays, December 2, 9, 16 at 10am.

The Cooperative Extension gardens are located at 8050 Paradise Rd. (Windmill Exit off 215).  Garden Tours meet at the Master Gardener Help Desk; parking is available in the front lot.  Otherwise, park in the back lot and look for the Master Gardeners “in the gardens!”

 Cooperative Extension Demonstration Gardens Three acre botanical garden at 8050 Paradise Rd., Las Vegas 89123 featuring 1300 species of desert-adapted plants that are identified by botanical and common names. Specialty plantings include: Roses, Milkweeds, Herbs, Vegetables, Fruit Orchard, Native Wash, Cacti. Open to the public weekdays, 8-4:30. Master Gardeners are available from 9-3 at 702-257-5555.

Cooperative Extension Research Center and MG Orchard Fruit and vegetable gardens at 4600 Horse Drive, North Las Vegas, 89131. Open to the public on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, 8 a.m. – noon. Freshly picked seasonal produce (fees) plus free mulch. Master Gardeners offer guided tours and gardening advice.
